Irene Mary Culnan
Culnan, Irene passed away peacefully on Dec 14, 2020 at 86 years of age.

Devoted and loving wife of 67 years to Thomas (Tom) Culnan. Tom Culnan passed away on July 6, 2020 and was dearly missed by Irene. Loving mother to Danny, David, Lucy and Dennis and mother-in-law to Suzi Sauve, Leonila Culnan and Elaine Culnan. Dearly missed by grandchildren Matthew Culnan, Chelsea & Corey Sauve, Elizabeth Pagliuca-Timperley (Simon), Louisa Pagliuca (Doug), Stephanie Culnan (Ryan) and Victoria Culnan. Loving great-grandma to Zoe and Finley.

Irene grew up in the Chatham area and met Tom while starting her work life at the CIBC in Chatham. They then married and settled in Toronto in 1953. Irene had a long and successful career at Rogers Cable for over 18 years, finally retiring in 1996 to spend time with Tom and her family. They are founding members of St. Wilfrid’s Church and were prominent members of St. Wilfrid’s Seniors Group and the Golden Age Academy. Irene was passionate about her hobbies of silk flower arranging, crafts and photography and entered her beautiful work in shows regularly. Irene, with Tom, loved spending time at their cottage enjoying the outdoors, the lake and their family time. Irene was a passionate sports fan of the Toronto Argonauts, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Irene was loved by all who knew her and she loved to organize events where she always worked to ensure everyone around her was involved, having fun and enjoying themselves.

Special thanks to the Nursing and PSW staff that provided wonderful care to Irene at home.

Now that the Toronto Region has moved to a “Lockdown Zone”, visitations will allow a maximum of 10 people in attendance. Please keep in mind that the Visitation and Funeral Service is by R.S.V.P. only due to Government Restrictions as well as the Bereavement Authority of Ontario directives.

We would kindly remind all guests who are coming to pay their respects, to always remember to practice physical distancing and to avoid all physical contact.

Please note that it is now mandatory by the Government of Ontario that all family and friends attending any type of funeral service, must be wearing a facial covering.

A truly wonderful soul, Irene. Always ready to help in any way she could at St. Wilfrid Church with both the Seniors Committee and the Social Committee and much more. She had a smile that radiated and was a true example of faith. She was so kind to everyone. In fact, Irene and Tom were the power couple; their love and marriage was an example to all. You will be truly missed, our dear friend. Rest in peace.
