Obituary for Irene Culnan

Irene Mary Culnan
Culnan, Irene passed away peacefully on Dec 14, 2020 at 86 years of age.

Devoted and loving wife of 67 years to Thomas (Tom) Culnan. Tom Culnan passed away on July 6, 2020 and was dearly missed by Irene. Loving mother to Danny, David, Lucy and Dennis and mother-in-law to Suzi Sauve, Leonila Culnan and Elaine Culnan. Dearly missed by grandchildren Matthew Culnan, Chelsea & Corey Sauve, Elizabeth Pagliuca-Timperley (Simon), Louisa Pagliuca (Doug), Stephanie Culnan (Ryan) and Victoria Culnan. Loving great-grandma to Zoe and Finley.

Irene grew up in the Chatham area and met Tom while starting her work life at the CIBC in Chatham. They then married and settled in Toronto in 1953. Irene had a long and successful career at Rogers Cable for over 18 years, finally retiring in 1996 to spend time with Tom and her family. They are founding members of St. Wilfrid’s Church and were prominent members of St. Wilfrid’s Seniors Group and the Golden Age Academy. Irene was passionate about her hobbies of silk flower arranging, crafts and photography and entered her beautiful work in shows regularly. Irene, with Tom, loved spending time at their cottage enjoying the outdoors, the lake and their family time. Irene was a passionate sports fan of the Toronto Argonauts, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Irene was loved by all who knew her and she loved to organize events where she always worked to ensure everyone around her was involved, having fun and enjoying themselves.

Special thanks to the Nursing and PSW staff that provided wonderful care to Irene at home.
