I just found out Wayne passed away. I have such great memories of him with the Metro Amateur Radio Club. And now, literally on the eve of Ham Radio's great event - Field Day - I vividly remember him at Field Day many years ago. He was a wonderful man and I think of him whenever Field Day comes around. May his memory be a blessing.

Uncle Wayne was always willing to teach if you were willing to learn. He taught me how to converse in Morse code. On long trips to visit our grandparents he taught me how to calculate everything that a modern gps does, long before they were invented. Some of the things the Uncle Wayne taught me I use in my day to day life. I always insist on calculating my fuel consumption by fill up to fill up and always like to calculate many other things. Skills like these have given me confidence for great lakes to ocean sailing.
Uncle Wayne you have influenced me more than you will ever know. But I am very grateful for it.
Rest in peace.
Your nephew,
Richard
