In Memory of

Obituary for Umberto "Bert" Savioli

You were truly one of a kind. From your jokes to your approach to life there is no one quite
like you. You were born in Rome, Italy and came to Canada at only 2 years old with your big
Sister and your tough but supportive Mom and Dad. You spent your younger years up and
down the streets of St. Clair Ave W having fun with your friends but also working your paper
route. You were an incredible athlete from wrestling to soccer and you’ll always be known
for “The Picture”. At 16 years of age, you moved to what came to be your forever home.
You had a gift in the kitchen. You recently gained a passion for trying new TikTok recipes
and creating a new spin on your older ones. I’ll forever miss your notorious Bacon and
Mushroom Rigatoni and even though I’ll make it myself while thinking of you it’ll never
taste the same.

You always had an adoration for music from Black Sabbath to...Black Sabbath covered by a
symphony. Many will remember how you liked to listen to music, as loud as humanly
possible. You treasured many songs but never claimed to have a favourite, only a “second
best”, as you were still waiting to hear the best and that was your motto for everything in life.
You were hilarious and always the life of the party even though you didn’t always want to be
there. You were extremely intelligent, brutally honest and you always told it like it was no
matter what others thought and although some people didn’t like it, I always respected you
for it.

You raised me to be well-mannered, honest, selfless and to always pay attention in Math. You
may not have always had the best approach at times but I always knew where your heart was.
I’ll continue to live my life the way you’d want me to and I’ll continue working hard to keep
you proud.

I love you so so much, for everything you did, how you did it and why you did it.

Sergio Savioli
