Obituary for Terry Earnest Stanley Vogan

Terry Earnest Stanley Vogan passed away suddenly January 15, 2023 in his 91st year while vacationing with his wife in Mexico.
Cremation has taken place.

He is survived by his spouse Valerie, his children Glenn (Beth), Brent (Heather), Dianne, Tara, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Raised in Toronto by parents Gladys and William Vogan, Terry graduated from Earl Haig Collegiate Institute and pursued a long career in sales for fuel, paint, chemical, and real estate companies, with short stints in the construction and property care businesses.

He was a long time Mason and Shriner, and a lover of Jazz and Big Band music.

‘Dad’ had said recently that he did not necessarily want a celebration of life, because he ‘hates to miss a party’. Well, that was Dad, seen every year on St. Patrick’s Day with appropriate green paraphernalia, and a green beer in hand.

Though he confessed to being kicked out of the glee club in school for lack of talent, Dad would usually lead the camp fire sing songs with his kids and their friends, by the lake on a weekend evening. He was the instructor while all his kids and their friends learned how to water ski, operate boats, snowmobiles and enjoy the outdoors.

A private celebration is planned with the family, and they ask that any donations in Terry’s name be directed to Heart and Stroke, or another favourite charity.
