Obituary for Peter Aliferis

Peter (Panayiotis) Aliferis aged 76 passed peacefully January 09, 2021, at home with his daughter (Chrisoula) and wife (Jacinta) by his side after a two year battle with lung cancer. He will be forever missed by his wife (Jacinta). Cherished by daughter (Chrisoula) and son-in-law (Cameron). He was a proud Pappou to his grandson (Frank). He is Survived by his sister (Stavroula) and adored by his brother (Theodoros) both residing in Greece.

Peter was born May 01, 1944 in Platsa a village of southern Greece. He Immigrated to Canada in 1969 and married his true love Jacinta in 1981. Peter never forgot his heritage and passed that along to his family. He was so proud of his home town that on several occasions he raised money to repair the century old church St. John in the village he always loved. Even though he was thousands of miles away his heart always laid there as a proud Greek. He taught his family the importance of hard-work and honesty by owning a successful Janitorial company with his wife for over 39 years.

Peter will be missed by adoring family and friends or as he use to call them "extended family". He was the life of the party always smiling and quick witted a jokester and a prankster. He loved gatherings where he liked to discuss politics, sports, his own philosophies of life and shared recipes even though he didn’t cook.

Towards the end of his battle he made sure to call all his "extended family" and family to personally say goodbye and tell them he loves them. he said " Although I have not lived an extremely long life it was a full one. Do not be sad or cry. This is not a goodbye forever just a see you later."
