Obituary for Paschalis Leondidis

Paschalis Leondidis died peacefully on September 2, 2020 in Toronto, Canada at 89 years of age. He is now at home with his Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ. A Godly man, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Florina, Greece, the son of Byron Leondidis, a successful businessman, his birth mother Evgenia Leondidis and loving stepmother, Olga Leondidis. One of six children, he grew up in a small village in northern Greece, Agios Panteleimon, and lived in Thessaloniki until immigrating to Canada in 1961. Paschalis was a professional mechanic in Greece and Canada and retired from the City of North York Board of Education in 1991. He was the president of the Pan-Macedonian Federation Of Ontario Inc in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. He and his loving wife of 53 years, Marika, raised their three children, Byron, Pantheleon and Olga in an atmosphere of unconditional love in their North York home. He and his wife were long-time members of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine & Helen. Through most of his life he enjoyed gardening, listening to music and dancing, reading and having conversations about history and politics and taking long walks. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He spent the last few years of his life at Villa Leonardo Gambin Long-term Care in Woodbridge, Ontario. Paschalis is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marika Leondidis. He is survived by his two sons Byron (Angela) and Pantheleon, his one daughter Olga (Daniel), 3 grandchildren Flora, Peter, and Zoe, 5 siblings Nikoletta, Pavlos (Kaiti), Nikki, Petros, and Mairy (Andoni) and numerous nieces and nephews.
