Obituary for Maria Ficicchia

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, MARIA, who entered her eternal rest peacefully on March 16, 2021 at the age of 80.

Though Maria’s health was failing for years, she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Nothing in the world ever prepared us for the pain and grief we carry heavily in our hearts.

Along with her family and friends, MARIA will be lovingly remembered by the love of her life, Bruno; children, Saverio, Patrizia, Giovanni, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren & great-grandchild.

She is reunited with her loving parents, Giovanni, Giuseppa and sister, Saveria.

We appreciate the love, prayers and warm messages we have been receiving in this difficult time.

In honour of this truly elegant and beloved woman who adored children, memorial donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children and the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Now that the Toronto Region has moved to a “Lockdown Zone”, visitations will allow a maximum of 25 people in attendance. Please keep in mind that the Visitation and Funeral Service is by invitation only due to Government Restrictions as well as the Bereavement Authority of Ontario directives.

On the day of the funeral, attendees must be scheduled to a maximum of 24 plus the clergy. We would request that only the most immediate family members join us at the Funeral Home.

We would kindly remind all guests who are coming to pay their respects, to always remember to practice physical distancing and to avoid all physical contact.

Please note that it is now mandatory by the Government of Ontario that all family and friends attending any type of funeral service, must be wearing a facial covering.
