Obituary for Kent Emmerson

Kent Bruce Emmerson passed away in the early hours of Monday morning May 15th 2023.

The amount of sadness we all feel is not easily expressed. We all miss him dearly. The big funny guy that always had a good quip at the ready and lit up the room. People loved him. He was interesting and interested in everything. He was full of compassion. He joined TOWARF in Oakville, a Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary unit, and spent several ski seasons volunteering for the Track 3 adaptive sports association, teaching children with disabilities to ski. He was known in his neighbourhood to lend a helping hand when needed. He was an avid pickleball player, and was really sad when he could no longer play. Simply put – he was a great guy, a loving husband, and an amazing dad.

Born August 28, 1956 – he leaves behind his wife, Aleksandra, of 35 years, and his beloved children, Rogvi, Melanie, and Jacqui, as well as his grandson Mattias. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters, Cheryl and Lori.

As per his last wishes, a cremation has taken place. He preferred a celebration of life and did not wish for a funeral. A celebration of life will take place sometime in the Fall – his favourite time of year.

Kent loved to watch nature grow. In his memory, plant a vegetable, flower, or tree. He would love you to do that.

A celebration of life for Kent Emmerson will be held at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre (14732 Woodbine Ave, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON L4A 2K9) from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Speeches at 2:00 pm.
Refreshments and Desserts to follow.
