Obituary for Inez McDougall

Inez May (Sparks) McDougall passed away peacefully with her family at the Scarborough Centenary Hospital on April 26. Inez was born in Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia on August 12, 1944.
Inez is survived by her Husband William McDougall; Brother Allen (Margaret), Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia; Sister Bonnie Grant, Toronto, Ontario; Daughter Colleen Sweeney (Martin), Barrie, Ontario; Son Paul Jefferies (Cheryl), Mississauga, Ontario; Daughter Linda Dyke, Halifax, Nova Scotia; Son Billy McDougall, Whitby, Ontario; adopted sons Maxwell Smith, Oshawa, Ontario and Wade Dixon, North Preston, Nova Scotia; ten Grandchildren; eleven Great Grandchildren;
many cousins, nephews and nieces. Inez was predeceased by her Father Lawrence Sparks, Mother Mabel Sparks, Sister Lillian (Sparks) Ross and Brother Lorne Sparks.

Inez moved to Toronto in 1954. She was a member of the First Baptist Church during the pastorship of Reverend Eustace Meade for over twenty years. She maintained the position of Usher at the Church and sang in the “Voices of Joy” coral gospel group. She left this church in 1986.
In 1988, Inez joined the Prayer Palace and continued her membership until her death under the
pastorship of Pastor Paul Melnichuk. Inez was employed at Sunnybrook Hospital for twenty years, the Centenary Hospital for one and a half years, the Bulova Watch for over ten years and at Black’s Camera for eight years. She
then retired for over one year.

Retirement wasn’t for Inez, she started a “Domestic Help” Business and has been an entrepreneur for the past twenty years. Inez loved Cooking, BBQ’s, Travelling, Sewing, and Knitting sweaters for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She had a passion for helping people.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DeMarco Funeral Home (Keele Chapel). Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13th from 10:00 am to 10:55 am at the Prayer Palace Church (1111 Arrow Rd., North York, Ontario, M9M 3B3). A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13th - 11:00 am at the same location. Pastor Paul Melnichuk officiating. Interment will be held on May 13 th for the Immediate Family only at the Beechwood Cemetery
Mausoleum.
