Obituary

God called Ian suddenly on February 20, 2021 at the age of 50. He was the loving son of Irene, and will one day be reunited in heaven with his father Alton. Cherished by his children Janai, Tameyah, Miguel, and step-daughter Kierra. Ian will always be remembered by his siblings Lana (Graham Townsend), Paul (Sharon), Martin (Debra), Kevin, and Clinton (Daisy). He was the adoring uncle of Tyler Townsend, Jalen, Keon, Tynesha, Cassandra Reid, Nyah Reid, Tamara, Kiara, Delano, Kayla, Kyle, and Kavell. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the DeMarco Funeral Visitation Centre (8003 Weston Rd. 905-850-9500) on Wednesday March 3, 2021 from 10.30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. with a private family service and interment to follow.

Now that York Region has moved to “Red Zone”, public visitations will allow a maximum of 50 people in the funeral home. All attendees must be scheduled by appointment only. Scheduling will be arranged through our website. Please click on the blue RSVP button below under "visitation details"

We would kindly remind all guests who are coming to pay their respects, to always remember to practice physical distancing and to avoid all physical contact. Please note that it is now mandatory by the Government of Ontario that all family and friends attending any type of funeral service, must be wearing a facial covering. As we continue to pray for an end to this horrible virus, the Menzies Family would like to thank you for your support during their time of sorrow.

In sickness and in health my dad was forever funny. He always cheered me up with a good laugh. My dad was so caring. He loved his children and loved seeing them accomplish their goals. He was my go to when it came to sports. My sports guru. Gone too soon. I love you daddy with all my heart and I can’t wait for you to see what a success your children will become. Janai Menzies
