Obituary for Grazia Rigano
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother Grazia Rigano. Grazia passed away peacefully on February 3, 2022 at the age of 81, surrounded by her two daughters and her sons-in-law. She will always be loved and remembered by her daughters Carmela (Louis) and Maria (Gary), her grandsons Michael (Jessica) and Andrew (Nicole), and her great-grandson Giacomo. She is reunited with her beloved husband Cosimo, her brother-in-law Salvatore, her sisters Rosina, Caterina, and Palma, and her brother Francesco.
Grazia was born in Tresilico, Calabria, Italy on March 12, 1940. She emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1979 where she lived until her death. Always hardworking and full of life, Grazia filled the lives of those around her with joy and admiration. While we knew she was nearing the end, nothing can prepare you for the death of a loved one. However, we are strengthened by everyone’s prayers and incredible support. We are asking those close to us to keep Grazia in their prayers.
The family would like to thank Francesca Rigano Desrosiers (Shawn) for being by Nonna’s side during her final weeks.
The family also wishes to send a special thank you to her personal support workers, doctors, and nurses for their care and compassion.
If you would like to come and pay your respects, visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at DeMarco Funeral Home (3725 Keele Street, Toronto, Ontario) from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
For those who would like to attend Grazia's Funeral Mass, it will be celebrated at St. Wilfrid Parish (1675 Finch Ave W, North York, ON M3J 2G8) on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:30 A.M.
