It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Giuseppe Orsino, beloved husband, father and grandfather. Giuseppe died at the age of 89 on April 17, 2020. He will be deeply missed by his wife Faustina, daughter Angela, son in law Carlo, grandchildren Siena and Michael, and all other family members. Giuseppe was born in San Marco, Argentano, Calabria as one of nine siblings, and leaves behind one brother and three sisters to mourn his departure.

Those who knew Giuseppe will forever remember his dedication to his family and his devotion to caring tirelessly for his son Ernesto in the years preceding his passing. He came to Canada in 1959 after living in Brazil to build a life with his wife, surrounded by the love of his vibrant extended family which remains tightly connected to this day. His children learned the value of a strong work ethic from him and his grandchildren got to know the playful and humorous side of him. Giuseppe will be remembered for his love of ballroom dancing and cultivation of his spectacular garden. He took pride in making his delicious sopressata, one of the traditional foods from his homeland of Italy. His grandchildren, Siena and Michael, will forever remember the repeated words of “Nonno Joe” telling them to “Enjoy the life” and his sharing of many heartwarming stories of his experiences as a young man in Brazil.

We take solace in the fact that he is now in God’s hands, joined in heaven by his son Ernesto and siblings Filipo, Lina, Domenico, and Ernesto. Although he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in our hearts.
