Nonno, your love was quiet, but it was strong, steady and constant.

You grounded all of us and made us want to make you proud, without even trying. Along with Nonna, you were the beating heart of our family and the foundation of our lives.

Your garden was a symbol of our family – always taken care of, always loved, and always growing.

We will miss the way you laughed as you watched our silly family shenanigans happening in front of you with sweetness in your eyes.

We will miss your wise and calm words,

Your black car in the driveway,

Your red sweaters,

Your homemade v-neck gardening tops,

Your running shoes (which you loved buying),

Your movie star hair and handsome dark skin,

Your wallet with ALL of our school pictures in it – some still from the 90s.

You were larger than life for us, and somehow, we thought you would live forever.

Now, it’s up to us to take everything you gave us and pass it down to our ever-growing family.
