Franca Pirillo was born on March 28, 1952 to Eugenio and Angelina Gallo in Mendicino, Cosenza, Italy. She was the youngest of her family and immigrated to Canada as a child. In 1974, she married her love, Giuseppe (John) Pirillo and went on to build a beautiful life that included two children. When Franca had Stefania, she decided to dedicate her life to being a wonderful mother. Franca excelled at motherhood and their family became complete with the addition of Daniel. She went back to work when the children started school, but her priority was always her family.

With her sense of style and elegance, Franca lived her life to the fullest, enjoying travels abroad, hosting dinner parties, attending various fundraising events, the opera and other musical concerts. She was a soft spoken women that filled her home with warmth, sharing her warmth with her family and friends. She also had a faith that never wavered and faced her fate to the end with grace. Everyone should emulate her love of life. We will miss her greatly.

Franca was predeceased by her parents, siblings (Franco, Pietro, and Antonio), her in-laws and her granddaughter, Angelina. She is survived by her adoring husband, John, her children, Stefania and Daniel, in-law children, Frank and Sandra, and her grandchildren, Luigi, Olivia, Giuliana, Daniel Jr., Veronica and Violet, as well as siblings. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Due to current circumstances the visitation, funeral and burial will be private, but all are welcomed to join via zoom with meeting ID and passcode provided on the funeral home website

The family is providing a zoom visitation as well as funeral service at St. FidelisRoman Catholic Church.

Stefania & Family

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I want to express my deepest condolences on behalf of the entire Pugliese family.

The loss of a loved one is a very hard thing to face and manage through, and especially so during these unprecedented times when we find ourselves increasingly isolated.

Know that we send you our thoughts, our prayers, and our strength to help you during this very difficult period.

Know that your mom will be forever in your hearts, and that she lives on in each of you.

On behalf of Nancy and my entire family (Mom and sisters alike) we offer you our deepest condolences and our love and support.

John Pugliese

Dear John and family,
I was very saddened to hear of the loss of your dear wife, mother and grandmother, Franca. John, I know how devoted you were to your beloved Franca throughout her life and her illness. Although there are no words to comfort you right now, I hope your happy memories of Franca will help to ease your grief and give you strength during this difficult time. You and your family are in my thoughts and in my prayers. May Franca rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you zio John, Daniel, Stefania, your family and all our zias and zios. Remembering her sister/zia dance pack and the unfettered warm, caring and loving environment she provided to us through all the family gatherings that never will be forgotten. A beautiful person and beautiful soul, her spirit alive and strong as seen through the wonderful people Daniel and Stefania have become is a testament of how great my zia Franca is.
Love from Elio, Teresa, Mia and Luigi.

Our deepest condolences to Uncle John, Stefania, Daniel, and your families. We have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Franca. From the early days when she took care of me and Gino, she was always kind, fun, and supportive of us. When I met Debbie, she was instantly welcoming and loving toward her. We will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace and may you take comfort in the loving memories you have of her. Love Frank, Debbie, Amy, Stefanie and Andrew
