Obituary for Cheryl Lynn Kramer

Cheryl L. Kramer, 77 of Toronto and Allentown, Pennsylvania died recently in hospital in Toronto.
Born August 8, 1944, Cheryl was the eldest child of five born to the late Walter and Jennie Kramer of Allentown, and a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Cheryl was an Allen High School graduate, a 1966 Kutztown University graduate, and a graduate of the University of Florida where she earned two Masters Degrees in Art and Teaching.
Fluent in six languages, Cheryl traveled the world extensively every summer after college. In her travels, she took cooking classes in Paris, walked the Great Wall in China, sailed the clear waters of Santorini, strolled lush green hills in Ireland, and will be remembered for her gifted artistry some of which were her paintings of miniscule cityscapes below finely detailed tiled rooftops in Italy hand painted on the tiniest of canvases where she rented former monks quarters. Never a birthday went by without a card from Cheryl embellished in her beautiful calligraphy with heartfelt sentiments.
She taught school in Annapolis, Maryland after college, then moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil to teach English and volunteered on the Hope Ship. She spent the next 36 years as a teacher in the secondary school in the Toronto School District, teaching multiple courses, art and photography. Since retiring in 2010, she enjoyed spending long vacations in Williamsburg, Virginia and Kauai, Hawaii.
Cheryl is predeceased by her father Walter, mother Jennie, sister Christine, and brother Jonathan. She is survived by her sister Brenda (Kramer) Jensen and partner, Scott Stoneback, her brother Bill Kramer and wife Donna, and her many cousins in Pennsylvania and across the United States. She will be immensely missed by her two beloved nephews, Tyler Hedglin and Nevin Hedglin, whom hold cherished childhood memories of their many travels and adventures with their Aunt Cheryl.
Private services will be held graveside Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Contributions may be made in her memory to her church. Condolences in her memory may be made online at www.demarcofuneralhomes.com
