Obituary

Scarlato, Beniamino

Passed away peacefully at Humber River Hospital on Novermber 27, 2020. Beloved husband of Franca. Dear father of Romeo (wife Rose), Julie (husband Sal Audia), Sal (wife Rosa) and Maria. Loving Nonno to Andrea, Alex, Christian, Gabriel, Eva, Elianna and Vienna. Survived by his siblings Frank and Anna. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Giovanni, Angelo, Pasquale, Maria, Ilda, Fiorina and Gilda. Due to the pandemic, it will be a private visitation and service on Monday December 7. Entombment to take place at Westminster.

Now that the Toronto Region has moved to a “Lockdown Zone”, visitations will allow a maximum of 10 people in attendance. Please keep in mind that the Visitation and Funeral Mass is by invitation only due to Government Restrictions as well as the Bereavement Authority of Ontario directives.

We would kindly remind all guests who are coming to pay their respects, to always remember to practice physical distancing and to avoid all physical contact.

Please note that it is now mandatory by the Government of Ontario that all family and friends attending any type of funeral service, must be wearing a facial covering.

As we continue to pray for an end to this horrible virus, the Scarlato Family would like to thank you for your support during their time of sorrow.

Dear Zia Franca, Romeo, Julie, Sal and Maria,
Please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of Zio Benito. Although it has been a very, very long time since we have seen each other, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. As a child I have such fond memories of spending time together and visiting with your family and playing together. I will remember Zio Benito’s beautiful smile and will cherish the memories I had of him. We were so grateful for the wonderful flour he gave us with which my mother would bake her cookies, thank you Zio Benito. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you Zia Franca and family.

Daddy I am filled with sadness that as your eldest daughter I could not be there in person to say good bye and comfort mom and my siblings in person. I do take great comfort in the fact that you were surrounded by people who truly loved you and stood beside mom, Romeo, Sam and Mary during this difficult time. You asked for little in life and now will reap the rewards of heaven. Please look after mom, your children and their families as well as our extended family. Much love and peace to you daddy. Julie

Romeo and family - Our sincere condolences on the loss of your father.
A loss is a heartache of pain and even more so during this difficult time when it is difficult for family and friends to support you the way we wish we could. Cherish all your memories and your dad will live in your heart forever.

So many fond memories of my Zio Benito growing up. He was always a very giving person who loved his family dearly, especially his kids. I remember visiting on weekends, and playing around making trouble as kids do and when Zio Benito tried to discipline us, his bark was always worse than his bite❤️. May you Rest In Peace. Love Vanda & Michael.
