Please see below the heartfelt memories from Angelina daughter.

On behalf of our family, our father, Frank, my sisters Maddalena and Rita, the grandchildren Michael Alexander and Angel, the sons-in-law Roberto and Corrado and myself Marisa we want to thank all of you for being here in spirit in celebrating our mother’s life.

We also want to thank all of you for all the calls, touching words of comfort, flowers, donations, and support during this difficult time for us.

Our mother, Angelina, was born in Italy 88 years ago in a small town called Civitanova del Sannio. Our father was from the same town. They were a true love story that has lasted for over 65 years. They did everything together, dancing, bowling, growing a garden, make tomato sauce, prosciutto, capicollo. They worked hard and had fun.

Both from humble beginnings they paved the way for us to have a better life with lots of opportunity.

Our mom was a very kind and gentle lady who was always there to help others. She was a very spiritual woman, who went to church religiously and said the rosary daily. She took comfort in praying for others and always giving back to the community and her church. In fact, St Wilfrid’s, this church has been her parish for over 50 years.

Many would say that our mother never had a bad word to say about others, always there to make sure everyone was taken care of and always giving whatever, she had.

Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She spent every moment basking in their accomplishments, however big or small they were, and boasting about them to her friends and family.

There is a story that describes our mother. One day our dad and mom went shopping. When they returned, they discovered someone running out of their house. As you know my mother is a small lady, barely reaching 5 feet and 90 pounds. This man running out house was over 6 feet tall and weighed probably 200 pounds. She ran after him. She did not see herself as a small frail woman. In her mind she could do it all and did it. After a few days we discussed this incident and my mother felt bad for this man. She said he must be in desperate need for money and if he came back, we should give him some money to help him. That was our mom.

Our mother was a pioneer and visionary, ahead of her time. She was progressive in everything she did. She saw no silos or boundaries. We were brought up to believe we could do whatever we put our minds to. She encouraged us to have an education, to travel and to live life to the fullest. That we needed to take advantage of every opportunity.

Our mom was a fashionista before the word fashionista was invented. Always in a stylish dress with of course, matching shoes and pursue. She would tell us how she put away a bit of money from her pay each week to buy that special pursue or shoes. She definitely was a trendsetter.

She was also a pillar of strength for our family. She taught us the importance of family, love, and friendships. She instilled in us the values, morals and principles that made us who we are today.

For those of you who knew our mom, knew that she spoke her mind but always respectful of others. You knew exactly where our mom stood, how she felt and called you out if needed to be called out. As you can see the 3 of us (myself and my sisters) take after my mom when it comes to saying how we feel.

Mom you will be dearly missed by all of us. We love you with all our hearts and life will never be the same. You left us with beautiful memories and your love to guide us. We know you will be by our side watching us in heaven and one day we will be together again.

May the grace peace and joy of the Lord be upon those who Angelina leaves behind. Isaiah 26:19 ESV Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.
