Obituary for Salvatore Rende

Salvatore Rende, 55, of Toronto, ON, succumbed to colon cancer at Hill House Hospice surrounded by his family on September 30, 2018.
Sam is survived by his wife Gini of 32 years, daughter Lisa Rende, daughter Christina Rende, son in law Franco Bussolotti, parent Anna Rende, brother Tony Rende, sister in laws; Mary Polito, Mary Figliomeni, Rosanna Sardella, Teresa Ficco, Sabrina Rende, and brother in laws; Tony Sardella, Domenic Polito, and Mike Ficco. Many loving, nieces, nephews and extended family. Sam was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend to all.
Sam loved cars and worked in the automotive industry for 30+ years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed sports and played hockey, he was a die hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Sam was a kind hearted person always putting others before himself.
A special thank you to the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill for their loving care and support. Also thank you to Demarco Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Demarco Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2nd, and from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Demarco Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3rd. Funeral services for Sam will be a St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (8500 Islington Avenue, Woodbridge), on Thursday, October 4th. Sam will be laid to rest at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery (7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge, Ontario).
Memorial donations may be made to the Hill House Hospice Richmond Hill, Ontario.

To Sam’s family and friends, I wish you many condolences....I met Sam thirty years ago at Honda and bought a car from him.... as the years passed, i would contact him whenever I was searching for a new car.... sometimes i would buy one fom him and other times I just didn’t find something I liked.... But every time it was a pleasure talking with him about cars and life in general..... I remember he scolded me once to “get with the program!” When I told him that I was still single....Needless to say, I had to make it so..... I picked up my GTI in Sept that he sold to me in May.... He gave me a big hug that day and I will always remember that.....Thank you Sam for your friendship and may you rest in peace!

My deepest condolences to the Rende family. I knew Sam in high school and grew up in the same neighbourhood on St clare.

I lost my wife to cancer recently and wanted to reconnecct with some old friends and found out of his passing -He was a great guy and I am happy I knew him during his younger years.

I just want to let Sam Rende's family know how sorry i am for his passing,i have known sam for about 40 years,first meeting him in grade 9,
then working with him and his brother Tony at IGA,I have nothing but great
memories of those years of us hanging out,we lost contact with each
as the years passed,but fate re connected us a couple of years ago and

My sincerest condolences to the family on the loss of a husband and father. My memories of Sam go way back to our years in high school, if anyone could make you laugh or put a smile on your face it was Sam. Being a close knit group of Italians we shared endless stories and laughs making very long lasting memories. One of those moments that has lasted to this day was the incredible pane vittorio sandwiches that would be made so lovingly by his mom and had the capacity to feed three of us at once.. there is even a picture to prove it. Those days in the halls of Western Tech were some very happy times and sadly now time has taken us to a place we never thought of being.. a place and time when special people are lost and taken from us. Thank you Sam for the cheerful person you were and for giving us some very fond memories that will live on. I am sorry all our lives took us in so many different directions and we were never able to get caught up. Rest in peace my friend.

To Sam Family
Our sincere condolences to the family of Sam.
I met Sam at the VW dealership.
He’s the most accommodating person (manager) that I’ve ever dealt with on any dealership.
Every time I bring my car for service I always ask for Sam.
After he was diagnosed he visit PAFF VW on Wednesday’s. It was planted in my head that Sam will be there every Wednesday.
One Wednesday I was lucky to see him there and he gave me a hug and hoping that he will survive the cancer cuz he said he was taking this medication and it’s giving him some rash.
Last month (September)I brought my car for Service and I asked one of the advisors if he is there. They said they haven’t seen him visiting for a while!
It choked me up thinking that something might be wrong!
I called there today and found out that he is gone!
Even though there was no blood relationship with Sam,because of his nice gesture that he showed me whenever I visit the dealership as if I’ve known him for a long time.
Sam it was nice and my pleasure meeting you! It was very short but memorable. I cherished the time and help that u spent with me when I was looking for a car.
